Something simple

Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory. Albert Schweitzer (1875 – 1965)

My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind. Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)

Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value. Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)

A $6,400 Toilet? A Bit Cheeky

It’s not that we don’t like the Numi, Kohler’s “most advanced toilet” (see video). Just the opposite. This stylish little throne, which we first worshipped at the recent International Builders’ Show, has features up the wazoo, including:

  • Motion-activated lid and seat. Sensors respond as you enter the room, meaning hands-free opening and closing of the cover. Motion at the floor-level prompts sensors to raise and lower seat.
  • Advanced bidet functionality: A self-cleaning wand features multiple options of water spray.
  • Integrated air dryer
  • Deodorizer
  • Heated seat and feet warming
  • Music
  • Touch-screen remote controls an automatic flush system, conserving water and boosting power.

Certainly, regular sessions with the Numi could make a “new me” out of most individuals. Except the thing costs nearly $6,400! Unfortunately, that fits the budget for only a select few who are flush with cash.

Amazing Grace!

Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound)

That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believ’d!

Thro’ many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.

Some quotes by other people, I don’t know who or when.

“I was not delivered into this world in defeat nor does failure flow through my veins. I am not a sheep waiting to be prodded by my shepherd. I am a lion and I refuse to talk, walk, to merge with the sheep. I will not hear those who weep and complain for their thoughts are contagious. Let them join the sheep. The slaughterhouse of failure…Is not my destiny.”

“If we understood the power of our thoughts, we would guard them more closely. If we understood the power of our words, we would prefer silence to anything negative. In our thoughts and words we create our own weaknesses and strengths. Our limitations begin in our hearts where we can always replace negative with positive.”

”It’s always down to you and the choices you make. Work on the things you can change and never dwell on the things you can’t. You choose… ‘results’ or ‘excuses’ it’s always down to YOU… no one has ever given their BEST and regretted it. GO HARD NO EXCUSES.”

“Set small goals for yourself and meet them. You are responsible for yourself!!”

“Pain is just weakness leaving your body.”

“You will never know your limits until you push yourself to them.”

“Tears will get you sympathy, sweat will get you results.”

“There’s no substitute for consistency.”

”Turn those dreams into ACTION …action turns into results… sooner or later you will be living the dream.”

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing. – Muhammad Ali
